Buckeye was found dead on Thursday April 12^th 2007. It was very difficult to watch his decline, particularly the last two weeks before he died. In remembering Buckeye, C & C have tried to focus on the incredible joy they got from watching him, the bonding that they experienced with him as he perched and flew close to them (sometimes not much more than arm's length away) as if he knew that they didn't pose a threat, his tolerance of them as his "stalkers", his breath-taking successful hunts and food exchanges (sometimes transferring directly over their heads), his frequent calls (he was the most vocal peregrine that they have monitored). Buckeye left an indelible impression on C & C and everybody who knew him thanks to Chad and Chris.
